For catacombs on level 4 it's "usually" above the entrance point from 3.

For chamber level 2, level 3 is "usually" opposite facing level 1. It doesn't always mean opposite of the map but the entry to level 3 will face the opposite tile of level 1 (in case you find that first)

Rallesaurus: A little tip for Catacombs that I use: go clock-wise from the wp in lvl 2 (as Phil explained), and counter clock-wise in lvl 3 from where you get down. Works more than 80 % of the time for me.

Lones555: Worth noting if you take a merc to Mephisto and you plan to moat trick you're better off teleporting from the left side (where he stands in the video) to the central path, that way the merc won't wander off into range of Mephisto for his customary death and you can still cast in range of hitting the boss. Not a big deal if you're rich but 40k a pop for reviving him can be a nuisance.

nSRemedy: I farmed trav a bunch on players 1 with a goldwrap and chance guards on ladder, great way to stack up gold quick for the tele staff. Found 2 shakos too.

Key is the tile orientation and relation between entry and exit tiles orientations. Position is random but often follows simple approaches that match the “turn left / right” tips.
Cata2: exit tile 90deg ccw rotated to wp tile, so “right”
Tomb: exit tile 90deg cw to entry, so “left”
Durance2: exit tile 90deg cw to wp, so “left”
Wsk2: exit tile 90deg ccw to wp, so “right”

kb27787: I absolutely hate farming the "TP-scroll bug"--his drops are terrible even when terrorized. Luckily, seems Meph is able to drop the act 2 statue (that's how I got it) as well as the act 4 statue in addition to his expected act 3. I'm not sure if this "cross-drop" is limited to the acts right next to the one the boss is located in or not though.
