Bobcatx69: I will always say D2 is GOATED. That being said it leaves a lot of room for improvement. It is a 20 year old game. Once you get passed first playthroughs and into end game gear and trading. That is where D2 really claws back its status as the greatest. The PvP and in game economy provides more fun, then just playing through the game. Unless you are a speed runner. So d2 has something for everyone

LAFORGUS: I commend new players giving a try to these old games in recent years. But i hope they understand that the feeling of playing these games around the year of releases is not the same than playing it nowadays.

That all we had back then in matter of technology and game availability. No social media, no smartphones, not everyone had internet, console gaming was more popular than pc gaming, like 9 to 1 compared to nowadays that is around 6-4/5-5.

withxoutxlife: Glad you mostly enjoyed the gameplay. Summoner Necro is one of my personal favorites. (I usually have to make several classes because I enjoy a few of them so much.) I think they tend to really shine once you can put together a few things. I will recommend if you play Nightmare, to maybe consider using the Mercenary from Act 2 when you get there. There's one that has a Might Aura, that will boost the damage of your summons by a lot.

monarzy5117: My biggest issue with diablo titles after 2 is the clear lack of understanding of what kept players around in d2. The builds in later games are way to boring, what do i mean by this? Well basicly you either get a character specific build or you suck. Dont get me wrong diablo 2 is also guilty of this but to a lesser extand. In d2 yes a minion build isnt the room nuking build of cold sorcs but you can finish the game on hell with the right gears. In d3 and d4 the over reliance on gear perks literally makes most build useless since they dont have any gears for them and when a build is theory crafted... blizzard nukes it into oblivion. Looking at you lightning claw druid.

logankerlee: Diablo 2 has been my favorite game since I first played all those years ago when it launched. I have clear and vivid memories of saving money so I could play this every week at my local game shop (named Discordia Games). This game was incredibly fun for me! :) Now - I began with the original Diablo back when that launched on PC many years before then in 1996/1997. Diablo's so flippin' fun in my book! :P

This game will likely always remain as my number one of all time. Others may (and have) come along that were more exciting or fun but those games lack the staying power that Diablo 2 has. Diablo 2 is a game that I can pick up anytime and enjoy. I can play a variety classes with a variety of builds for each and enjoy my time within. I don't know of many other games that offer that amount of replayability while maintaining the fun levels throughout. I have no idea the amount of hours total that I've spent playing Diablo 2 - Blizzard (thankfully xD) doesn't keep track of that info. But - even if it did, I've spent likely an equal amount of time playing before D2R launched or before I began playing online.

I'm very happy to find out that you enjoyed this one! :) I'm for sure looking forward to hearing about your experiences with other classes. The Necromancer wasn't my first pick - no, instead I began with my still favorite class Paladin! If you'd like to play again in a way that's different than how you've been going about it - I recommend that you check out Paladin. :) I'm biased, I'll admit it.. but it's a class that's quite a bit different than Necromancer as you don't have any support minions ((until super late in the game if you're going for that build)). Instead you'll be a melee wrecking machine, clearing out the game's enemies as you plow your way through Hell! :)

Abdo.Hass.19: D4 is not even remotely close to D2.. This game doesn't even start until hell mode. Keep going and you'll understand better. Ubers, pvp, the climb to 99, trading.. There's so much more to this game than just going through the normal campaign.
