Alas I must be the bearer of bad news and tell you that "damage reduced by 1" is physical damage only; because when they made diablo 2 they smoked an enormous brick of hash provided by david brevik, damage randomly means physical damage only. Magic damage is magic damage; except when it's just MAGIC damage, which only affects magic damage instead of all magic damage. I hope this helps

And about Poison Creeper, it "generates a static size 3 missile or mat applying poison damage and length upon attacking a target: any hostile unit positioned over it will also be damaged."
