4pintsaday: I believe the "ghosts" class of minions have a limited item drop table, runes being one of the few on it. So technically, no increased rune drop, just less items they can drop, which just so happen to equal more runes dropped.

dkentertainment5730: I mostly play a cha to hell and than I start trading nonstop, and in the waiting time I do runs. Trading makes u rich in season a lot faster than mf running.
Than i start buying off rals, amms, sols, pgs, hels, and resell huge amounts to Asia. Later I gamble on griffons what I buy around 1-2 ber uniq. 2 seasons ago I gambled on around 120 griffon and pulled a few 20-15 and 1 perfect roll 20-15-200 but sadly base was 58 def. So not total perfect.
wizrom3046: I dont think your choices are very good. I've done a lot of ladder starts over the years, like this;
Hammerdin. Get cheap runewords real easy and quick, like dual spirits, stealth armour, lore helm. Cold act1 bow merc. Teleport staff on switch. Run like the wind with max vigor aura. Redemption ready to instantly restore life and mana.
Run TC85 areas like river of flame, run any areas that are safe and easy and get max monster kills. That will give good wealth and level up really nice.

They nerfed boss drops and made small monsters very farmable for runes and uniques etc. The goal is to get LOTS of dead monsters per hour of play with fun and safety. Doing "1000 mephisto runs" is like nooby 2007 play style, ugh
