The Good, Bad, and UGLY of The ROTW Expansion Diablo 2 Resurrected
The Good, Bad, and UGLY of The ROTW Expansion Diablo 2 ResurrectedMar 16 2026
zxql_: Finally hearing all of my concerns from a content creator is so reassuring. It felt like an echo chamber where people wouldn't even listen to valid criticism. Huge respect for Phil, hopefully devs watch this and take notes.
iBleedHotSauce: Being able to see stat ranges on gear is something I have wanted since the original D2
storm2156: Personally, I really liked this expansion overall, just feel the warlock is over-tuned. He's amazingly fun to play and has a really snappy play style. Then the sunders are just a bit to rare, I think rolling them should be expensive. On another note while I do love the original D2R and prior to that D2 with LOD expansion I personally would like to see further changes. How many specs are not viable end game? Heck there's even some that will barely get you through nightmare. Throwing barbs, bowzons, meleezons, summon necros, druids, defensive aura pallies, and more are underwhelming just to name a few. Then that expands to gear and how so many things are nearly completely useless, add some way to fodder the uniques we don't use to make something like a vaal orb after getting like 25 or something that we can "corrupt" an item with it. While I felt Blizzard North (later Blizzard/Activision in the early years) made great games, they absolutely suck at the easy part which is balancing things. Makes me wonder if they have any mathematicians on payroll.
AvocadoAfficionado: Everything that has been added since 1.14d has been rushed, poorly thought out and lacks direction.
It's the definition of slop and blizzard is happy to keep dishing it out go keep microslop happy with the quarterlies.
sdkdoom2: For the amount of content we got, i can't even call this an expansion.
Sweetguy1821: Level 96 and got my first sunder charm. Got lighting at least.
ragnarnvfoster6023: This DLC was 25 years in the development cycle guys... What would it take to have an expansion that's solid? Could it be done before we die?
draconicepic4124: As someone who can program, I can confirm that the D2 loot filter is just bad. It has nothing to do with code complexity. If anything, the layered filtering is actually harder to program than a general filter.
peterrasmussen68: Stacking junk jewels would have been nice, new crafting recipes or at least let us keep ethereal properties.
themrctulhu2554: imo i'd love to see another QoL feature, since we got Rune/Gem tabs is breaking high runes and gems into their lesser variants. I hate to see tons and tons of Thuls and Amns and not being able to upgrade them because i just cant find any chipped gems in hell, and i dont want to reroll good hell maps as well.
Also i'd love to have 1h boss TZ, 30 minutes is just not too long for boss farming (and even less time to farm someone like nerfed Andy)
Teledabby: i actually hate the whole TZ stuff. to much content is now hidden inside. And the statues are pure BS. Player has to play when the game said so? so bad!
We should have the weeks planner for TZ for online modes too, at least to be able to plan an bit.
ddoom2568: We have lama to thank for tz Andy and the sunder situation
oleskou2436: The warlock is just way to busted, its super sad that some of the streamers like llama actually played this for months and months, and did not find it over powered.. I honestly nearly quit the ladder on HC after a week, because i didnt even need to upgrade my insight spirit monarch, to absolutely destroy P8..
Agree that the longevity of the game, this is soo fucking bad.. We saw it with mosaic (mosaic was nothing compared to this btw).
WeirdGuy4928: About the loot filter, I had the exact same problem with inferior items and throwing potions. I think the problem is just that the game doesn't really tell the player how it works. If you make a rule that hides inferior items and throwing potions, most people would think that the game now hides all inferior items as well as all throwing potions, but what you actually did was tell the game to hide all inferior throwing potions. And since there are no inferior throwing potions in the game, nothing will be hidden.
Same as if you made a rule to hide all uniques and also all shakos. You just made a rule that hides unique shakos and nothing else.
Personally I think most people will be fine with just 1-2 hide rules to hide the trash(potions particularly should be hidden as they have such long names they take up a lot of space on the screen).
And then if you wanna go the extra mile, you make a single rule to hide everything, and then individual rules to show the stuff you wanna see.
atomicmantis: 11:12 one of the only things about the "natural" tz's vs worldstone shard tz's that I can see weighing between pros/cons is that the worldstone shard tz's aren't timed (meaning you can't repeat farm that area like with the timed naturally occuring tz's), but you can instead farm the whole act.
zeloteus2677: Only half way trough.. but great video!!
I already agree with alot of the things you are saying
I totally zoned out when you showed the clip of the guy who couldn't see anni on the ground, because of loot filter..
So i forget to listen to what you said.
I would prefer you just talking, and show the clips by themselves. Maybe you thought the video would be too long if you did ?
Now back to watching
jf3422: I had 0 herald my entire lvl90
SpiritJuiceSyphon: I agree with most of what you said..I havent really played it my warlock is still only level 15 lol...playing solo offline recently (xbox here) also seems drop rate of items is different to me. 1 skill GC since new update..I need some for nova sorc tryin to make lvl 99 first time..so are they? am draw ire came up three times in a row no herald...
shanegreene6398: Hype
Kamperj: I like the idea of an OP character at least on Single Player offline play. sometimes I enjoy playing an OP character, as long as it is offline by myself where its not affecting the enjoyment of playing in a team
McMeatBag: The same people that made mosaic made an op class?
I have felt those fomo urges from TZs
zerocrane: Most people don’t ply offline so terror schedule isn’t a thing for normal players
atomicmantis: 24:04 doesn't the necro already basically have that with Revive? Am I missing something?
Kamperj: the loot filter sounds to me like bad code writing. I understand the code how it was written but they should had a section written as an overall filter and then another section for more detailed filters.
callmeaboomer: Would Like to See a Trade system Like in poe2
andrewpetty4882: I like the changes. I don’t have time to play but for maybe an hour a night, so don’t have the time to put hours and hours in to farm HRs, so I like that the character has unlocked later game content for those types of players
_mycotroph: The pinks and purples are an interesting art choice. By interesting, i mean completely and utterly ignoring the establish color palette and tone of the game.
