The Truth About Diablo 2s Strangest Areas

  • The Truth About Diablo 2s Strangest Areas Aug 06 2026

gamegenie11: Always down for a D2 history lesson!
    slickstyles9433: Shoutout to Xtimus!
GriMtHeReAp: Damn and my chair over here like the kurast sewers
securatyyy: The stained glass panes actually have a stained glass monster that is supposed to pop out and attack you. Its not enabled but it is in the files.
subarashiionions8696: Coooley, your attention to detail with the video editing is so underrated. Amazing job!
wozar7461: The monastery gate being referenced in dialogue was an interesting part as it was actually explained in-game.
mrturkey290: Please do more of these, Cooley. Also, I need to look into getting one of those anti swamp ass chairs.
00austin: Lore vids are always great.
    MisterBison1: 16:57 Chris-chan getting scammed again
haxanator1513: 2:56 POE1 ripped that idea for their act 1. You have to clear the pass in act 2 and you can go back and forth through it after.
hell_inc5853: Dude . Thanks for this, brother. Makes one wish they could have a sit down with some of the original devs of d2.
smilelikeachow: I'm guessing the stained glass windows being monsters was just a shortcut the devs took to have full-length breakable glass panes that would damage the player on breaking.

Since they just wanted the glass to injure the player character (gameplay-wise, the glass panes were likely a shortcut / escape route that players could make at a cost to their HP) by breaking, and not by exploding, setting the floor on fire, shooting the player with fire/ice/lightning projectiles, releasing a cloud of poison gas, summoning zombies, etc. like how all the other trapped breakables in D2 are doing it,

the quick and dirty way to implement this would simply be

    - Monster called "Stained Glass Window", shaped to cover the entire opening it's placed in , breaks in one hit

    - Alive animation: the window just standing there being a window; Death animation: the window breaking; Corpse: broken window.

To simulate being cut by the glass shards, the stained glass window just needs to hit the player character once before it dies.
MJ2Pb: I like that you’re still making videos AND still manage to somehow make them about new and interesting things I still haven’t discovered in over 20years of playing. Seems like every other D2 channel I follow they started with making youtube videos, eventually switch over to streaming, and shortly thereafter just quit D2 entirely for some reason.
Marias.Icerunner: Thief build is what Carbot Animation show about Assassin.
oneeye2244: Omg. I literally noticed these the other day. I was asking myself, “Have I ever seen these before?”
missedmurphy: This is such a great video idea. I learned so much and I've been playing since D2 released. Keep 'em coming!

Also, possibly a terrible video idea, have you ever covered cow leveling back in the day? I remember there used to be three dedicated channels (by difficulty) that you could choose from and then find people hosting them
xledgeandairyx: I love how Cooley gets called out on one mistake during an OG item lore video and his ego claps back with a video featuring even deeper lore and pin point accuracy??
b.3713: 11:35, auto party makes this easier than ever
JjDodo-nu4mb: Dropping knowledge! I dig it ! Been waiting for another video!
Retruber: I remember back when Ani charms couldn't be traded. One of my friend's guildmates traded an enigma for one, but after he picked up the charm and before the other player could pick up the enigma, he turned the enigma into an iron golem.
ZxAMobile: This guy deserves all the fame, the best D2 yter in the world. Glad you never quit, now is your time bro.
Unresolved876: I followed your channel pretty much since you started, and gotta say your editing skills have gone through the roof since.
DSHREDZZ: Brings back the nostalgia. I remember playing “drop game” back in the day where you will take turns dropping items hoping to get snag someone else’s while keeping your own
addd717: I think i just witness the best segue to a sponsor in my entire life so far.
ABOZ162: Love this analytical style and genuinely had no idea about these details
Crammin-Salmon: As always bro, love the content. I keep finding myself back on d2. It’s just a phenomenal game
crypto-ninja_d2: Been playing this franchise since Diablo 1 on playstation and still learning things. Great video Cooley!
