sebastianmalmsteen: The leap attack barb became my starter build of choice every season in D2R. It's perfectly capable of doing a solo self found run, and as it doesn't depend so much in gear for the early game, you can at least get to The Pit to farm items for an eventual respec. The build costs only 40 skill points, so you can max find item and Battle Orders easily.

I use an Azurewrath with it and farm the ghosts on the Arcane Sanctuary for runes.

Offmeta build I use: Blade Summon Assassin. Warning. There is a Prebuff!

Using plus to skills, summon a Shadow Master. Even with 1 point wonder, she ends up being ~level 32.

Equipment: Metal Grid, Peace, Death, Gore Riders, Dream Helm, Dragon Shield, Crafted Blood Gloves, Raven Frost, dual leech ring, string of ears.

Summon Valkyrie (level 15) via Peace. Swap on Treachery. Summon Blood Golem (level 22?) via Death. Swap on Eternity. The Blood Golem will stay because Metal Grid allows it! With an A3 fire Merc, everyone is getting enchanted.

Maxing Dragon Talon, Lightning Sentry, and Shock web. Remaining points as you like into Blade skills. Summon Revives via eternity. Telestomp with Dragon Flight.

Solid Crushing blow, good meat shields, Fire, lightning, and physical damage. Use cloak of shadows/mind blast when things get hairy.

Wanna stay back and chill? Lightning sentry Blade Fury. Wanna melt that boss? Dragon Talon Blade Sentinels. Eternity is slept on
Helldritch40: Sorry, but the Bonehew summon druid was made in patch 1.10 with demon machine as a weapon swap taking advantage of the bear or wolves and using goblin's toe and Guillaume's face to have a bit of crushing blow (along with piercing). The goal was to have a first corpse fast and then boom! The build was mentionned and discussed on the Amazon Basin forum back then but it faded from usage pretty quickly as the summon druid back then, had not a ton of summon to protect itself and the necro was way better at it. But your version does have an interesting take on it.

The leap attack and corpse explosion druid are just troll. Pro tip, you can use ort rune a chipped gem in cube to repair charges on the bonehew. And no, it's not just like a necro's CE, higher skill gives it larger radius.

A very unpopular build I have done is an iron barb, focusing on increasing def to as high as possible using concentrate as your attacking skill, its so slow! But gives OG warrior vibes from D1

Gods_Grim_Reaper: I figured out years ago that Holy Fire damage transfers to the explosion from Raven Claw's arrow, so I made a holy fire bowdin. It was pretty sick.
amazingcalvin: I play LoD and experiment with the viability of different builds in Hell with low end gear. Usually the most expensive piece of my gear would usually be Obedience for my merc or Crescent Moon for myself. I use no skill charms either since I usually don't find any. And below are the non-meta builds that cleared P1 Hell without too much difficulty.

Amazon:
1) Freezing Arrow/Immolation Arrow
2) Charged Strike/Plague Javelin
3) Jab/Fend
4) Lightning Strike/Charged Strike

Assassin:
1) Phoenix Strike (no mosaic)
2) Tiger Strike

Barbarian:
1) Berserk using a polearm
2) Whirlwind using a polearm

Paladin:
1) Vengeance
2) Holy Shock

Sorceress:
1) Fire wall/Frozen Orb
2) Fire Ball/Glacial Spike

After playing all of these builds, I have come to the conclusion that with enough endgame items, ANY skill can become relevant. I mean, Fend and Whirlwind worked for me on budget in LoD no less. So anything can work if you use enough skillers and Infinity or Grief.

mikebabb2155: Lol These are all pretty basic builds that have been done countless times over the past 25 years. For example that barbarian with only leap attack equipped is the frogger barbarian. I will give you some credit and say that your gear choice is different but that is because we used programs like Jamella Editor to create our gear. Some of which was just for fun and some was purely for pvp.
